Lately I have shown you a lot of pretty pictures of finished rooms, beautiful exteriors and even some nice images of my kitchen. But that’s not really what life is like these days. We’re back in the thick of it tearing off plaster, installing insulation, ripping out old wiring, sanding, scraping, and making a giant mess in the process.
Ian has been making headway in the nursery and it’s really coming together even though I can’t help. This past weekend he focused on the walls and I’m happy to say that they are finally all closed up! He also updated some of the wiring and will hopefully start on the floors in two weeks. Then it’s trim work (blah), detail finishes, wallpaper, and boom (!) we’re done!
Not to get ahead of ourselves though, there’s still a decent amount of work to do, but so far so good! Ever since we finished our first floor, I’ve really wanted to wrap up projects on the second floor. Having an entire floor completely finished is a feeling of pride/happiness/excitement like I just cannot explain. And I’m ready for that on floor number 2. Not to mention I’m way past ready to start fitting out the nursery. I’d like to be able to start decorating before I’m too giant to move! In the meantime though, here’s what we’re looking at…
So although it’s not pretty, it’s progress. And around here we like that just as much. Stay tuned for the transformation from workshop room to baby nursery – it should be a fun ride! And definitely something we’ll be happy to put in the baby book someday!
