Although we have loads of projects that we still need to do in the house, it’s time to shift gears and work outside.
As the weather is (finally!) starting to get nice in our corner of the world, we have decided to start working on the exterior of the house. Since we bought our home we’ve made tons of changes inside, but have left the outside exactly the same. Some of the exterior projects we’d like to tackle are:
Siding (either repair or replace)
Fix Old Trim
Build Back Patio
Repair & Repaint Deck
Fix Front Porch
Enclose Yard With A Fence
Add Exterior Lighting
Landscape Front Yard
We will do most of these projects ourselves during weekends early on in the summer (so we can enjoy them sooner)! This means that our interior progress will slow over the next few weeks while we shift gears and work outside.
The very first thing that needs to happen is removing our existing (rotten!) wood patio. I imagine this means that our first outdoor project will be building a new patio. As it has been cold and rainy here lately, I haven’t thought much about patio-living, but I need to start. Per usual, Houzz came though with some great inspiration photos and they are helping me gear up to get started.
These inspiration photos get me excited for warm nights spent under the twinkle lights enjoying summer with friends. But we have a lot of work to do first! This weekend we hope to demo the old patio and start building the new. Hopefully it’s a success – we’ll keep you posted!
Stay tuned & enjoy the warmer weather!
