We got two new windows. That’s about the whole of the story, it’s not an interesting step, but it’s an important one. All of the windows in the house had been updated in recent history with the exception of two on the top floor and the one in our soon-to-be master bath. To spread out costs, we updated the bathroom window and the one in bedroom we’re currently living in. We’ll tackle the other, more complicated one, sometime down the road.
Due to unforeseen complications our bathroom window will be in our shower, so switching it out now made the most sense. We went with a fixed window so we’re sure not to have any trouble with water going places it shouldn’t. We plan to frost the window at some point, but for now it’s just a solid sheet of glass.
Getting two new windows felt good – the old ones had long been rotted and were difficult to open and close. Plus the new framing on the exterior really helped out the back view of the house. All in all, it was a good day.
