There are few things I love more in life than coming home to completed work on the house where I did not have to participate. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy taking part in my own DIY renovation, I really do, but it is exhausting. And on the rare occasion that work is all finished and I didn’t get dirty, sweaty and overwhelmed – those are the little happy bonuses, like extra sprinkles on a sundae, if you will (and I LOOOOOVE sprinkles)!
Not once, but twice (!) last week I got to enjoy this little gift from the renovation gods. Two projects were totally done without me lifting a finger. I got to run errands, do laundry, and even meet a friend for lunch. Heck, I actually got to put on makeup and curl my hair while progress was being made in the other room. It was awesome!
Ian took over the one-man-task of cutting an installing the crown molding (a job he, apparently, hated). And the glass guys came the following day to install the shower glass and door. With the trim in place and the shower installed, I’m beginning to love this room all over again. We have one more major project before we can move in and it’s another easy one – calling the plumbers to do the finish plumbing. Yay for not lifting a finger on that job either!
Post-move-in we will build the storage cabinet and modify the vanity so the drawers work, but those don’t need to be done before the bathroom is functional. And we’re literally days (!) away from functional, ahh!
