Hello all! I am currently headed to southern Virginia wine country for a long weekend with my main squeeze as a mid-renovation getaway. Oh my gosh, yay! I thought since I was headed to the south for a few days, I’d share with you one of my favorite southern homes. It’s been making it’s way around the blogging world for a few weeks now and after doing a little more research I found that it was built in Nashville by Castle Homes and photographed by Alyssa Rosenheck (who is literally amazing).
I don’t know when my love affair with all things below the Mason-Dixon started, but I’m pretty sure I was just born that way, a displaced Southerner if you will. And my obsession with Southern interior design is no different. I love the formal undertones, even in the most casual spaces, the perfect balance of warm neutrals and muddied greens and blues, the deep porches, scattered antiques, architectural nods to the Colonial style, all white everything, windows that go to the floor, six-foot tall shutters, warn brick walkways, ever-blooming gardens, porch swings, tree-lined drives…you get the idea – I’m obsessed.
So without any more fuss, I welcome you to (what is probably) the most beautiful home you’ll see all week! Enjoy!
Clearly I had issues editing what photos to use, sooooo you got them all, ha! Happy weekend everyone! Be sure to check the blog on Monday to help me decide what color to paint my bedroom (yes it’s already time to start thinking about paint colors, which I choose about as quickly as bathroom vanities…). And we’ll take on the endless debate of dark and cozy or bright and airy…
