Here on Hill Street I like to be inspired all the time. That means getting lots (and lots!) of instant gratification when it comes to home décor, remodeling, interior design etc. Heck, I’ve even been known to open emails solely because the subject mentions a ‘new vibrant paint color’ that I absolutely do not need. So how do I feed the beast?
Thankfully I live in a time where I’m just a few screen touches away from being fully immersed in various worlds of design in a matter of seconds. So whose pics do I love to love? Check the list below for a dozen of my all-time favorite instagrammers.
Grace Bonney @designsponge
Design Sponge doesn’t have over 300k followers for no reason! It’s the sort-of center for all things design. And the instagram account, run by Grace Bonney, features more than just great rooms. Pattern, color and texture abound in the ever-growing artsy feed.
Home Polish @homepolish
Home polish is an interior design firm located in New York, NY. Their instagram account features only their projects, which is incredible considering as of this post they have 1,491 pics on their feed. And all of them are awesome.
Jonathan Adler @jonathanadler
The British designer’s website states, “Our design philosophy, build a timelessly chic foundation then accessorize with abandon.” Yup, I’m in love! And I can’t get enough of the designer’s instagram feed either. Geometric shapes and wild colors galore!
dwell magazine @dwellmagazine
My love of architecture is just as robust as my love of interior design, so being a loyal fan of Dwell Magazine shouldn’t surprise you. But their instagram account will. Often showcasing feats of borderline architectural insanity, the feed will both inspire and amaze you.
The Design Files is Australia’s most popular design blog, and for good reason. The youthful, artistic feed focuses on color, accessories and beautiful outdoor spaces. Lucy also keeps it personal by including pictures of herself and her team at work…or play. I think they play mostly!
Décor 67 @decor67
This is one of my favorite feeds – it’s all of the beautiful rooms and none of the fluff. Sourced all over the internet, they do the grunt work and you reap the benefits. And bonus, they love to post more than one room a day – perfect!
Liz Marie @lizmariegalvan
Liz Marie Galvan is a wonderful blogger, but I could stare at her instagram account all day. The accomplished DIY-er typically posts pictures of her own home, but she never seems to run out of beautiful spaces and ideas. If you’re into the rustic farmhouse look (or anything whitewashed) – you’ll be into her feed.
House Idea @myhouseidea
The sole purpose of My House Idea is to inspire those who love interiors. I have yet to find an image on the feed that isn’t a specular space. Mostly modern, but always memorable, these rooms are meant to get your creative juices flowing.
Will Taylor @brightbazaar
Everybody loves Will Taylor. I mean, it’s hard not to. His love of all things colorful, bright (ha!) and fun shine through in his whimsical feed. The lifestyle blogger/author/designer loves to travel and I’m convinced that wherever he is the sun is shining.
Carolin Avd @carolinavd
Love stark Scandinavian design? Me too. And I suggest following Carolin Avd (at least, I think that’s how it goes). The Helsinki-based designer not only has a knack for beautiful indoor spaces, but also for taking great photos. Her feed is black and white and fresh all over – it’s a must-follow for Norwegian inspiration.
ELLE décor @elledecor
I am a faithful reader of Elle Décor so it’s no surprise I also enjoy their instagram postings. Often excerpts from their latest publications, the feed is a quick way to access the magazine without having to lug it around. New designers and timeless looks intersect here – it’s kind of my happy place.
Mark D. Sikes @markdsikes
My mom got me on to Mark D. Sikes, and frankly I think everyone should be following him. The blogger/interior designer admits that he is a devoted advocate of chic people, glamorous places, and stylish things. His instagram feed is at once timeless and on-trend. Look for more from this talented designer with an impeccable eye.
