Our master bathroom is about 95% complete and since I can NEVER wait to share the final version of anything, I have a few quick photos for y’all, whoo! Cheers for a master bathroom sneak peek!
The overall look of our new bathroom is much more west coast ‘boho’ than anything I’ve done before, but I love it. I wanted something fresh and modern and this bathroom delivered. All of the walls in the master bedroom and bathroom are BM Super White, and the hardwood floors in the bedroom are whitewashed. The simplicity of all the other elements makes the tile floor really pop.
I knew from the second we were building the addition that I was going to use cement tile somewhere. I like the pattern, the texture, the patina. I even like how they are made. I kept all of the other elements pretty muted so that the floor could steal the show. This bathroom is meant to be functional and simple, with a very understated style.
And although I love the floor, my very very favorite part of this room is the window between the two vanities. From the second we started scribbling floor plans on napkins I put a window there, and I never let go of that vision. Even the contractor said, more than once, “are you sure you want this here?” YES! I wanted to be able to look outside while I was brushing my teeth or doing my hair. An overarching theme to our project was bringing the outdoors in, and this window allowed me to do that from the comfort of my PJ’s.
The other details came a bit later. I added some natural wood elements with the mirrors and stools to ground the look. Leather on mirror will be echoed in leather drawer pulls that I’m still waiting to install (ordering snafu and I need 4 more, ugh!) I want to add some more visually ‘heavy’ elements with decor and hardware, but not much. I might even have another plant or two (this house gets such great sun it’s turning me into a plant lady!)
Oh, I should mention another favorite element…the lighting! I’d been drooling over these sconces for a year and was thrilled when I realized they’d work well in our bathroom. I am a firm believer that every room needs a little black. Especially one with so much white. And these funky modern shapes meets traditional style was the perfect fit in our master bath.
I will do a full reveal with sources and everything in a week or so once the final details are finished, but in the meantime I just wanted to share another room that’s oh-so-close to completion! I hope you enjoyed our master bathroom sneak peek – Happy Monday, y’all!
