Since we bought our house – Ian and I have done a whole heck of a lot in eleven months. But one thing we have not done is go on vacation…so, we did! And it was epic.
For the last two weeks we have been playing, swimming, drinking, eating, partying, sailing, hiking, beaching, lounging, and sunning in the absolutely beautiful British Virgin Islands. The first half of our trip was spent at the stunning Peter Island Resort and Spa with the whole gang (my parents, brother, and sister-in-law). We rented one of the villas and had the most incredible time. The view from our house was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen and the accommodations were unbelievable. Together, we had an amazing week – fun was had by all from beginning to end.
After eight days of much needed (and very fabulous) R&R on Peter Island, the four kids moved on and rented a house on Tortola for the remainder of our getaway. The Tortola portion of the trip was quite an adventure into life in the BVI including driving on the left side (on terrifying roads!), eating daily local fare, a full moon party and getting stranded on an island by accident.
Below is a sneak peek of our trip. I have many, many, many more photos (and hours of video!) to edit, but I thought I’d share a quick look into our memorable (and amazing!) vacation…
I will never forget all of the fun we had over the past two weeks – we made memories I know each of us will keep forever. And although I was so saddened to leave the BVI, returning to our corner of the world felt comforting as well. There really is no place like home and I’m excited to renew our journey into making ours a place that we’ll always be happy to come back to.
