Not much needs said about L’Hôtel Marrakech, the pictures really speak for themselves. But here are a few good points to know about the beautiful hotel, located in the heart of the ‘Red City’s’ Medina.
First, it was designed (and still owned) by Jasper Conran, son of the iconic British designer, Sir Terrence Conran. This is his first time designing a hotel, which he claims has long been a dream of his. Second, the hotel has only five suites, all of which are generously sized. Third, this hotel was listed as one of the Best New Hotels in the world (2017) by Condé Nast Traveler (USA).
The hotel recently underwent an extensive restoration using local craftsmen and traditional materials. High zouak ceilings, simple whitewashed walls, stunning antiques, and fresh pops of color make the hotel feel exotic yet welcoming. A stunning outdoor courtyard and tiled pool is surrounded by multiple terraces, each adorned with billowing white voile curtains and plenty of greenery.
I can just envision myself sipping a cocktail poolside in a caftan after a long day at the local shops. Take a peek below and you’ll see what I mean. The design of L’Hôtel Marrakech is the best of what can happen when traditional meets modern and East meets West.
